Maundy Thursday at Mt. Malepunyo

My friends and I went to a dayhike at Mt. Malepunyo last Thursday. The climb was an easy one; ofcourse compared to our Mt. Makiling climb last May 2012. 

From Station 4, there were two diverging trails, we took the trail going to the left since we were advised to do so. It took us more than two hours to get to the summit, including getting delayed because we felt the need to take frequent resting periods. Haha! Btw, we’re all girls!

We were blessed with good weather. There was no rain to slow us down. It was still dawn when we started the hike and the sun was just rising when we were about to reach the peak, making for a cool hike. We were a bit disappointed when we reached the summit because it was so foggy up there. 

So we waited until the sun comes out and when it was finally up, the view from the summit became clear. 

A white cross marked the Manabu summit. We were impressed by the view of the wide plain and the other Malepunyo peaks. Got enchanted and awestruck by other mountains that are also visible from where we were located.

We started the descent by 9am, going down the same trail as the one we took coming up. We made good time and reached the jump off after two hours. We headed on home after having our lunch.

I had a good climb, got to spend time with my friends, got to meet new people, and got to explore a new mountain.

1. Why do you want to watch the Concert?

I really want to watch "LMFAO Live in Manila" because I seriously want to experience an endless dance party jammed full of high-energy beats and shuffle-your-feet electro-funk versus a typical sit-in-your-seat-and-wave-a-lighter-to-your-favorite-song kind of show. You know what I mean! ;) Hey, how about dancing like there's no tomorrow huh? ;) OMG! I can see myself having a blast during the concert night. Their high energy will surely keep all the concert-goers entertained. Yay! ^_^


2. What is your favorite song from the chosen Artist?

Party Rock Anthem. This is absolutely my favorite song of LMFAO.


3. Why did you choose that song?

I just can’t stop listening to it! Man! The song had me bouncing and throwing my hands up in the air, EVERYTIME! :) Gives me the feeling of “Yes! This is exactly why I want to see 'em perform LIVE!” ;)

Happy Birthday MAMA! :)

Today is really a great day for me, but most importantly, for my Mother. It is my mother who had me in her womb for 9 months and I know how painful it is when women are in labor, still, my mother held the pain, so that her little daughter can come to earth. Today, my mother clocks 47 and I just don’t know how to help her celebrate it BEST than telling it to the world. :)

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAMA! It’s sad that we couldn’t be together on your special day for obvious reason, but thank God for technology because I can greet you in my post. :)

I just wanna let you know that I am really grateful that God gave me a mother like you, though we’ve only been together for very few years and I never really grow up with you. I’m still thankful because I know that across the miles, you are always there to support, pray, care and love me.

I know you’ve been through a lot and if there’s one story na pang MMK (Maalala Mo Kaya) that will be your story. Lol ;) It’s been years now when you started raising me up as a single parent, but you & our whole family and relatives were there for me and I never even looked like I have no father [(except when thinking about a father’s love) *I know most of you won’t understand & will never understand but…NVM*] 

I admit, growing up without a mother beside me is not easy, but it also taught me how to be strong, independent and responsible as a person. Thanks to my family, relatives & friends who were always there to guide me all the way. I’ve learned to fight my own battles, run my own race and achieve my dreams. You suffered and sacrificed a lot, but everything’s so worth it! I’m really happy because we can now see & celebrate the fruit of your labor.

I salute you for achieving your dreams, our dreams. I’m proud to be your daughter and I hope that I can be like you, and I hope that someday, I’ll be on the right track as well.

You taught me to have good relationship with God so when life is so tough, when we’re about to give up, we can always call God to strengthen and comfort us.

I have nothing to give but my love. For if you weren't born, I would never have been born to you. We might have fought over simple things; I’m really sorry. And I want to thank you for being so understanding. I'm PROUD that you are my mother, and I'm your daughter. Thank you for your unconditional love. Happy birthday and I really pray that you will have more birthdays to come!

Simple Plan Live in Manila

Canadian pop punk band, Simple Plan, is composed of Pierre Bouvier, Jeff Stinco, Sebastian Lefebvre, David Desrosiers and Chuck Comeau. The band brought its energetic live show to the Smart Araneta Coliseum for their Get Your Heart On Tour in Manila last January 12, 2012. Front-act Kamikazeetook the stage with 5 songs. It felt kind of sad missing the first two songs ofKamikazee due to some unwanted circumstances, but I’m still glad to have been able to enjoy their last three songs. The audience loved Kamikazee; they danced & jumped while singing along with the band. The band performed Martyr Nyebera, Narda, Halik, Ambisyoso and Tsinelas. There were a few lucky ones who got the few CDs, which were given away by Jay. After Kamikazee, the set change forSimple Plan took about 30 minutes, giving us time to find a nice spot where we could stay and enjoy the concert. Thanks for the Press Passes given by Atthewomb.com, we were allowed to bring in an SLR and stay anywhere we wanted, which was at the right side of the stage.................................. Another year older... Hurray! ^_^

Tomorrow, January 17, 2012, will mark another year of my existence on Earth. I am so amazed. The fact that I am celebrating my 22nd birthday means I have been given ‘another chance’, which I certainly must be very grateful for. God has given me another year, I am alive and I thank you Lord! I am truly grateful to get to celebrate another birthday. :)

One more sleep until my birthday, but already I am receiving loads of birthday wishes. A lot of people already greeted me through texts, calls, emails and Facebook. Good friends, relatives, and even someone I never expected. I am overwhelmed with all your thoughtfulness and wishes. As I would probably not be able to reply to all your messages, I would like to thank everyone here in this article for the birthday wishes you sent me and are continuing to send me even as I write this post. I don’t want anyone thinking that I am ignoring your messages. I really appreciate it. I am really happy! Another blessing to be thankful to God. :)

I believe that how long we live is not important. Whether it is a short or long life is not crucial. It is what we do in that short time we spend on earth is what matters.

So, again, thank you so much for all those birthday wishes. And I hope few years from now you will still be wishing me happy birthday and I will still be saying thank you.

**Please contact your preferred organization ahead of time to verify whether or not they accept liquid donations if you want to donate water, liquid milk and medicines. I've heard complaints of donations being turned away because of donation restrictions, end of donation acceptance, lack of manpower, etc. Updated pages like LBC Foundation gives details about donation guidelines.

They will also conduct training on Dec 23 for volunteers who want to participate in the Stress Debriefing, Trauma Healing/Counseling and Intervention for the typhoon victims.

However, according to their Sagip Kapamilya website, volunteers need to present a photocopy of a valid ID and a clearance (NBI, baranggay or police clearance), and two (2) 2x2 ID photos; fill up a downloadable form; and attend an orientation. **All those listed above are legitimate and verified, and have ongoing and organized relief operations that are accounted for. Some of them have partnered up with other organizations or with each other for better operations or response systems.

Addendum for OVERSEAS DONATIONS via LBC

Instructions for shipping donation boxes for free to Cagayan de Oro:
(Information provided by a concerned citizen who got in touch with LBC SFO)

(1) All boxes must be addressed to:

(2) Contents must contain NO LIQUIDS. High Priority items are canned goods, blankets and toiletries.

(3) Sizes of allowable boxes are: Canada 21 x 21 x 25 or smaller, US East Coast 28 x 18 x 17 or smaller, and West Coast 24 x 18 x 18

All time high with All Time Low

I grew up with love and appreciation for all different types of music. And that explains my eagerness to watch various concerts whenever there’s a chance. Last September 22, I was lucky to get a chance to watch All Time Low’s concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Though I still got slight fever and sore throat from last night’s concert (AI), it didn’t stop me from watching Alex, Jack, Rian and Zack perform LIVE. Great international artists like them do not visit our country frequently so we must not miss the chance and just let it pass by.

My friend and I went straight to Smart Araneta Coliseum immediately after our review since we were running late as we were dismissed late. I met Miggy @ Padi’s Point beside the Red gate of the Big Dome. I was also able to meet Mark, atthewomb’s official photographer, for the first time too. People, I’m tellin’ you, these guys are awesome; you have to meet them too. THANKS a lot to them, and to everyone from atthewomb ofcourse. 

After my friend & I had our dinner, we already entered the gate, find our seats, and seated comfortably while waiting for the show to start. We were at Patron by the way. Thanks to Miggy again, he’s the best! 

I was so excited for ATL’s concert, but what made me more excited was that TYPECAST served as the front/opening act. Well, just so you know, I was in first year college when I first learned about Typecast, and I got so hooked up with their songs. Some of my favorites are “Last Time”, “Will you ever learn”, “21 And Counting”, “The Infatuation Is Always There”, “Forget”, “The Boston Drama”, and many more. You guys must check ‘em out!

TYPECAST (Front Act @ All Time Low Live in Manila)

As lights were turned off, the audience started screaming so loud. I thought that just seating there on our seats would be so boring so we decided to leave our seats and to go near the stage. We went and walked through the wild audience. Luckily, we survived and finally found ourselves just about few persons away from the stage. And there, we enjoyed Typecast’s performance much. They really set the mood of the audience, perfect opening for All Time Low. It took quite a while setting the stage up for ATL so we went back to our seats.

Few minutes later, a familiar music started to play. It was “Art of the State” that was playing, but I could barely hear it because of the loud cheering & screaming of the crowd. It was the best song to open the show; it boosted the energy, emotion and excitement of the audience. After the intro, All Time Low was finally on stage. Man, my eardrums felt like they were going to break from those loud screaming and cheering. They first sang “Do you want me (dead)”. We were surprised to see collection of bras on their mike stands being thrown on stage. There were also condom balloons flying everywhere. How everyone loves it when the boys talk dirtier and rock harder as they perform.

The band had a great setlist. I personally love going to a concert where I can sing along with the artists/bands because it makes me feel like I’m part of something bigger. Since I know all the songs on their list, I was able to sing along with them throughout the show. And I really enjoyed the whole concert. My friend and I wanted to go back near the stage but it seemed to be very impossible since the area was overcrowded at that time. We just stayed on our place and stood on our chairs. Even if I slipped and fell down the chair not less than twice, it didn’t matter. It was like a crazy dance party wherein you didn’t have to worry about being shameless! We really had fun!
All Time Low really know how to put on a great show and Alex knew what to say to work and entertain the crowd. There was one part of the show wherein Alex was teasing Jack by asking the audience to repeat the words he was saying, watch this:

Everyone loves it! They were so cute! Now Jack owes Manila Taco Bell. They also said that their show here in Manila was one of their favorites, and that they’re gonna be back soon. Yeah, I’m not even kidding! They said it several times. They performed their latest hit “I feel like dancin’ tonight” after. This time, we were back on the center near the stage. And the area was a mosh pit full of people dancing wildly as they sing along with the band.
I felt much emotion while singing along with Alex as he played solo in an acoustic performance of “Therapy” & “Remembering Sunday”. I was also mesmerized as the audience sang their hearts out. It was very clear and loud, so loud that you almost can’t hear Alex’s voice, but it was full of emotion. That was my favorite part of the show.

I loved their encore too, it was really great! Their performances never fail to draw us in. We spent all the energy left on us by singing, dancing, moshing, screaming and cheering all at the same time. You could feel the intense emotion of the audience as they sing along with the band. This will give you an idea on how the band deeply connects with their audience. All Time Low Live in Manila was such a great experience!

Dear Maria, Count me in (Final Song)

The day after, my whole body was in pain, and it hurts even more every time I move. I also got some bruises, my sore throat became worse and I literally lost my voice. But… I survived last night and my soul is elated.

I know that this concert will not be possible without Ovation Productions so I want to thank all the people behind it. Ovation Productions is number one in bringing great artists here in the Philippines. Thank you ofcourse to atthewomb for giving us, your fans/friends, the chance to see and watch our favorite artists LIVE. You rock! And to Miggy, thank you so much. You’re the best! :)
